Chris, your social media storytelling is absolutely electrifying! Your adventures with Inappropriate—the delightful, rum-obsessed pirate—bring such charm and mischief to life. Could you share with us an overview of your creative journey on social media? Also, please highlight one to five pieces of content that you’re most proud of, and tell us why these standout pieces best capture your unique style and resonate so powerfully with your fans.
Chris:
My social media follows the adventures of my Sigfig (signature figure) Inappropriate, who is a jolly, rum obsessed Pirate. His adventures take him all over my build room, and into the outside world!
Through a combination of story posts, reels, jokes, and reviews. He always manages to get into some rum fuelled mischief!
I have had a lot of fun creating his persona, and interacting with other Afols and their sigfigs, to help create my ongoing story of his adventures. I often use whatever set I have been building at the time to affect the direction of the story.
For example, when I received the JMBricklayer Viking House that set was weaved into the story, as it made a great backdrop for the adventure.

More recently I have had a lot of fun incorporating the new Black Pearl 40002 set into my adventures, especially as this type of set is really perfect for my content style. I like to use social settings, and ships to set the scene for my posts, as Inappropriate is a very sociable Pirate.

I also did a review for it so that my followers could see what they would be getting if they decided they would like one. I enjoy doing the review reels so as this let people know what I think of the sets, and JMBricklayer always ask me to do honest reviews which is great.

I think my slightly quirky style with my stories, jokes and reviews work well with brick fans, as they are not the typical posts that you see a lot of on social media, and where they have the consistency of my Sigfig, Inappropriate, regularly turning up in the scenes, it helps to build trust with our followers.
We’re truly blown away by the creativity and flair behind each piece! Chris’s unique storytelling, playful humor and masterful integration of dynamic sets like the JMBricklayer Viking House and the Black Pearl 40002 bring his pirate adventures to life in the most delightful way. Every post is not just a glimpse into a fun and mischievous world but also a heartfelt connection with us, his fans.
His innovative approach and genuine passion shine through in every masterpiece, making our community all the more vibrant and exciting. Enjoy diving into these adventures—you’re in for a treat!
Part 2 – How Chris thinks of the collaboration with JMBricklayer
Samon:
Chris, your work with JMBricklayer has given us some truly unforgettable moments! From the Mechanical Parrot—with its brilliant blend of traditional charm and cybernetic flair—to the enchanting Rainbow Unicorn that holds a special place in your heart, and the lively Red F1 Car giveaway that truly resonated with your fans, each project radiates your passion and creativity. Could you share with us how these sets have shaped your creative journey and what they mean to you personally, especially in connecting with your vibrant community of fans?
Chris:
The first set that JMBricklayer asked me to review was the Mechanical Parrot, which is still one of my favourite sets. I loved the combination of traditional style with the cybernetic looking flip side. The set has been permanently sat on my build desk ever since, and I have even incorporated him into my ongoing story, and named him Cranky.
He occasionally tells silly jokes on my Instagram page:

I really hope JMBricklayer do a re-release of this set in another colour, maybe a red version, as it really is a great little set, I even bought one of my best Afol friends one for his birthday.
Another set that I really enjoyed was the Rainbow Unicorn that my wife bought me for a Christmas Present. It is a very unique set, and with the light kit built in it makes it look phenomenal. It is quite a challenging set in places too, which makes it interesting.
I really have enjoyed collaborating with JMBricklayer, and buying some of their sets too. It is always interesting to see how they improve with each new set that comes out, which is great from a fan point of view as it keeps you interested.
Another fun bit of content I created for a giveaway that I did in partnership with JMBricklayer was this one for Red F1 Car:

We had quite a few entries into the giveaway and it helped tom raise awareness of the brand among my followers, several of whom I know have bought some of the sets and really enjoyed them.
My best advice when building any set is to pay careful attention to the instructions, to check that you get it right first time. But don’t worry if you make a mistake, as the beauty of these products is that you can dismantle them back a few steps to correct your error.
I would love to see more pirate and medieval themed sets in the future, as these really fit well with the type of content I make and the sets I love to build.
His deep passion shines through every project—from the unforgettable Mechanical Parrot, a brilliant blend of traditional charm and futuristic edge (affectionately named Cranky and proudly displayed on his build desk), to the enchanting Rainbow Unicorn, a unique and challenging set that truly dazzles with its built-in light kit.
And who could forget the exciting Red F1 Car giveaway, which brilliantly highlighted the brand’s creative spark and brought the community together? Each review not only showcases his genuine love for building and storytelling but also creates a vibrant, interactive experience for everyone following his journey.
Enjoy the magic and innovation that Chris brings to every adventure!
